Ellen Greene

Executive Director

Ellen’s career in public service has given her the chance to perform with purpose. Engaging in meaningful work that makes a difference in the community inspires and drives her. Her background in nonprofit leadership and education provides experience in working collaboratively, promoting diverse perspectives, and fostering a culture of inclusivity. She is passionate about ensuring voices have a seat at the table and that all people are welcomed, valued, and respected.

Ellen’s background in education includes teaching at various public and private schools in the area, in addition to running the Preschool in the Pike Place Market. Further, her nonprofit leadership experience includes running the Financial Assistance Program at Hopelink and overseeing the management of their Service Centers in five neighboring cities.

Now, as a resident of First Hill, Ellen is passionate about our unique neighborhood and is committed to FHIA's work stewarding an urban environment that is vibrant, accessible, and embraces all those who live, work, play, and visit First Hill.

When not championing for the community, Ellen delights in spending time with her husband, puppy and two black cats. She enjoys riding her bike around the city, being in the woods and on the water, learning to two step, and playing bridge.  First Hill is the place she is proud to call home.
