First Hill Park Comes Alive with Music this Summer!
FHIA is pleased to announce we’ve been awarded a Put Art in the Parks grant from the Office of Arts and Culture!
These grant funds will fund hiring musicians to play daily in First Hill Park from June through September. The music is not amplified – think a single player with an acoustic guitar, not a concert! Musicians will alternate between playing from 11am-1pm and 5pm-7pm. This program is part of the Seattle Parks and Recreations existing Busker Program, and the first extension of this program into our neighborhood!
The intent behind that programming is to provide a pleasant experience for folks to hang out in the park and enjoy music making it the safest and healthiest place possible.
Be sure to keep an eye out for musicians in the park, and take a moment to sit and enjoy our lovely jewelbox park enlivened by sound!
FHIA is grateful to the Office of Arts and Culture and the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department for their support in making our park thrive. If you have any questions, please reach out to Alex Hudson, FHIA Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org
