Celebrate First Hill’s history at December 4th book launch

Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood has a long, unique — and surprising — history. In celebration of Historic Seattle’s 40th Anniversary,  the beautifully-illustrated Tradition and Change on Seattle’s First Hill: Propriety, Profanity, Pills, and Preservation is being released. Lawrence Kreisman, Historic Seattle Program Director and the book’s editor, will introduce this important project and Paul Dorpat will share images of First Hill throughout the past 150 years. Chapter authors will answer questions about the “moving identity” of our neighborhood.

Both educational and entertaining, their historical anecdotes will teach area residents, employees, and visitors the significance of this important neighborhood and why it needs to be preserved. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Thursday, Dec. 4, 7:30pm. Downstairs at Town Hall
